Project Details

As part of Noosa Shire Council’s flood and landslide recovery program, this project involved remediation works at multiple landslip-affected sites. The scope included construction of bored pile retaining walls with capping beams and shotcrete facing to stabilise steep slopes, along with excavation, backfilling, and full road reconstruction and reinstatement.

The works were delivered across several remote locations under tight time constraints and adverse weather conditions. Road reinstatement involved multilayer granular pavement construction, drainage upgrades, and relocation of existing services.

Traffic management was moderately complex due to restricted work zones and narrow road cross-sections. Environmental risk was heightened by ongoing rainfall, requiring stringent erosion and sediment controls. Monitoring during clearing ensured protection of flora, fauna, and cultural heritage values, with no adverse findings recorded.

This project reflects key elements of R2 category roadworks, including complex slope stabilisation, drainage integration, and careful environmental and stakeholder management under challenging site and weather conditions.
